So what is pansexuality all about? Some say that it’s just a wanky way of saying you are coming out as bisexual, but not really so. You hook up with girls because you feel a certain sexual attraction towards them, but wait… you also hook up with guys and you feel that certain thing as well. Hmmm… You don’t mind dating gays and straight folks. Does that consider you promiscuous or just feel a free-flowing love for the rest of humanity? If it’s the latter, well, you are a pansexual after all.
Well, pansexuality isn’t just a new trendy term, it has been used since early 1900’s. And now the popular culture and its icons have brought pansexuality into the mainstream consciousness.
One of the youngest pansexuals is a Divergent Series star Shailene Woodley, who said:“I fall in love with human beings based on who they are, not based on what they do or what sex they are.”
Miley Cyrus and Angel Haze, an American rapper and singer, have also identified themselves as pansexual.
Josh Hutcherson has got his own point of view on pansexuality: “I have this dream that one day, my kid’s gonna come home from school and be like, ‘Dad, there’s this girl that I like, and there’s this guy that I like, and I don’t know which one I like more, and I don’t know what to do’. And it’s just be a non-issue…”
But what about others?
Madonna, Lady Gaga, Angelina Jolie, Tom Daley, Amber Heard, Rita Ora, Billie Joe Armstrong from Green Day and Alan Cumming are also pansexual.
What do you think about pansexuality? Is it ‘just the usual stuff’ or a great thing worth developing into a worldwide trend or a pure evil destroying our society? Please share your opinion in the comments!
