Batman Returns Nike Air Jordan VI Being Auctioned Off On Ebay! The auction is only for a single boot, but that hasn’t stopped the current asking price from rising over $5000! The boot is autographed by Batman himself, Michael Keaton!
The boots were created by Nike for the memorable super hero film back in 1989 on the basis of their Air Trainer III. Bob Ringwood who was a costume designer for the movie hesitated about any possibility of working the brand into the costuming because “80s sportswear isn’t going to fit in with our 1940s look”. But then he found a decision: the boots were covered by the suit’s ankle and shin armor and the Nike shoes became almost unrecognizable.
Michael Keaton loved the shoe which was very comfortable. Nike provided the shoes for Batman Returns again and this time a modified version of Air Jordan VI shoe was used, adding an attached boot collar allowing for placement of Batman’s shin armor.
Tim Burton’s Batman Returns is a legendary classic of the pop culture and the boot therefore is a precious piece of cinematic history.
